Natural Gas Processing Short Course
VMG is proud to offer a comprehensive course on the fundamentals of natural gas processing with the University of Calgary Continued Education Department.
This short course provides a general overview of natural gas processing and emphasizes the design and operation of gas plants and related facilities.
Topics
- Physical properties
- Phase equilibria and vapour liquid equilibrium calculations
- Water-hydrocarbon systems and natural gas dehydration
- Natural gas gathering and plant inlet separation
- Sour natural gas treating/sweetening
- Dew point control and NGL liquid recovery
- Acid gas compression and injection
- Sulphur recovery
Plant modeling, Validation, and Optimization with VMGSim
Best practice modeling for complete plants within VMGSim is covered with initial review of thermo selection and global variable creation. User selected specification locations within the flowsheets are discussed with design to rating simulation studies reviewed in preparation for validation and optimization.
Quick overview of historical plant data is then followed by selection of input and output variables in completing a plant matching regression exercise. After validation of trends is complete the creation of a COM layer through Excel is reviewed for overall plant optimization exercises.
